In-Person Virtual Learning Assistance for Kindergarten-5th Grade

The ECP Program is offering childcare from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for Kindergarten and First grade, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for Second and Third grade, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for Fourth and Fifth grade. All classes are at Lower Campus where the Aftercare workers will be providing a safe space using strict COVID-19 guidelines.

We currently have no openings in Kindergarten. There are 2 openings in either Spanish or Mandarin in our first grade class. We have 2 openings in second grade, 1 opening in Third grade, 3 openings in Fourth grade and 2 openings in Fifth grade. Our contact email is ECP@theglobeacademy.net.

The ECP Program will offer childcare beginning August 19, 2020. This care is intended for elementary age children whose parents need additional support for their students. The Aftercare workers will be providing a safe space using strict Covid-19 guidelines.

The GLOBE's In-Person Virtual Learning Care (IVLC) is designed to provide students a comfortable and safe environment to accomplish their virtual learning/digital assignments, grow and play in a safe space. Kindergarten thru 3rd grade will meet at Lower Campus from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4th and 5th grade will meet at Upper Campus from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Space will be extremely limited. There will only be 10 openings for each grade level.

Fees:

Non-refundable Annual Registration Fee: $50 for 1st child, $75 for family (This covers the registration for the year)

In-Person Virtual Learning Assistance: $ 160/Weekly

• This program runs 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for K & 1st Grade and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm for 2nd and 3rd Grade at Lower Campus and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Upper Campus Monday thru Friday
• Drop Off Time 7:50 am. Pick Up Time 2:30 pm for K & 1st Grade and 3:00 p.m. for 2nd and 3rd Grade at Lower Campus and 3:00 p.m. at Upper Campus.
• Sibling discounts (20%) are offered for additional students
• A two-week notice must be provided for withdrawing from the ECP Program

Overview:

• Parents must email ecp@theglobeacademy.net if you are interested in the In-Person Virtual Learning Care. Only 12 students per grade level (K-5) will be accepted.
• This program is only designed for Kindergarten thru 5th grade.
• There will only be 10-12 students per grade level.
• Aftercare teachers will supervise the children. We will help monitor their studies. Aftercare teachers will provide a safe and nurturing environment for the students. Aftercare workers are not teachers and will not be teaching any educational lessons. Our day will include plenty of fun time; indoors and outdoors.
• All students must bring their own lunch. Please remember The GLOBE Academy is a NUT-FREE environment.
• A morning snack will be provided for all students. Students may also bring their own snack, if they prefer.
• Parents and Visitors will NOT be allowed to enter the building.
• Children will be dropped off at the door in the morning with a drive-thru carpool in the afternoon.
• Virtual classes will start at 8:00 am. Please have your students arrive on time.
• All teachers and students will be required to wear masks.

Safety Protocols:

1. Practicing Prevention

• Continue to teach and reinforce good hygiene measures such as handwashing, covering coughs, and face coverings
• Provide hand soap and hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, paper towels, and no-touch trash cans in all bathrooms, classrooms, and frequently trafficked areas
• Post signage in classrooms, hallways, and entrances to communicate how to stop the spread. This includes COVID-19 symptoms, preventative measures (including staying home when sick), good hygiene, and school/district specific protocols
• Clean/disinfect frequently touched surfaces at least daily and shared objects after each use
• Every adult GLOBE staff member is required to provide and wear their own masks
• Encourage students and staff to bring hand sanitizer and face masks/coverings to use from home. We will have extra on hand if needed
• Ensure ventilation systems operate properly and increase the circulation of outdoor air as much as possible, as long as this does not pose a safety or health risk to students or staff
• Conduct deep cleaning of schools prior to students/staff returning; schedule additional cleanings during weekends or school holidays/breaks per CDC Guidance

2. Entering School Buildings

• Have a safe, supervised area for any one who becomes sick/feels ill at school
• Designate entrance and exit flow paths
• Screen students and staff (to the extent practicable): Take temperatures as teachers and students enter the building; Isolate and send home if internal temperature over 100°F; and Provide safety and privacy concerns (confidentiality will be maintained)
• Parents and visitors will not be allowed in the building

3. Meal and Snack Time

• Lunches must be brought from home and eaten in the classroom or outside.
• Require student hand washing before and after meal
• Provide hand sanitizer for students and staff
• Continue to use disposable plates, utensils, etc.
• Conduct cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout lunchtime.

4. Transitioning

• Limit mixing between groups (to the extent practicable)
• For class changes and other transitions throughout the school day: Designate areas of the hallway (i.e. lanes) as flow paths to keep students separated to minimize congregation of students

5. Conducting Large Group Gatherings

• Abide by the maximum number of people allowed to congregate as defined by Bright from the Start guidelines.
• Discourage the congregation of students in common areas: Students will proceed directly to classrooms at 7:50 a.m.

6. When a Child, Staff Member, or Visitor Becomes Sick at School

• We will identify an isolation room or area to separate anyone who exhibits COVID-like symptoms.
• Notify local health officials, staff, and families immediately of a possible case while maintaining confidentiality consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable federal and state privacy laws.
• Close off areas used by a sick person and do not use before cleaning and disinfection. Wait 24 hours before you clean and disinfect. If it is not possible to wait 24 hours, wait as long as possible. Ensure safe and correct application of disinfectants and keep disinfectant products away from children.
• Advise sick staff members and children not to return until they have met state DPH criteria to discontinue home isolation.
• Inform those who have had close contact to a person diagnosed with COVID-19 to stay home and follow state DPH guidance if symptoms develop. If a person does not have symptoms, follow appropriate state DPH guidance for home quarantine.
